We all scream for ice cream!
So on this very hot day all I can think about is ice cream. Unfortunately I found an article on the most fattening ice cream flavors.
"They" say that the worst ones are ones with peanut butter and/or nuts.
And guess what?? Can you believe that I love ice cream with peanut butter?! Just my luck. Why can't I love sherbet? Or sorbet? Or low-fat? Or even better, fat free? But, alas, I love the fattening Häagen-Dazs Chocolate Peanut Butter. I mean, I could seriously eat it after every meal. Who am I kidding? I prefer to eat it before every meal.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?

In the spirit of "What's in your car?" over at Rocks in my Dryer....
I cleaned out my SUV and guess what all I found....
*2 left over Happy Meals
*Pair of black heels
*Pair of black flip flops
*4 stuffed animals
*4 empty water bottles (HJ's fave toy)
*Anti-bacterial hand sanitizer (3, yes 3 bottles)
*3 grocery list note pads (no wonder I can't find one in the house)
*Chinese menu (sometimes you need to order in the car)
*Disney Princess Crown
*Lilo and Stitch DVD
*2 leftover soft drinks from McDonald's (one that leaked in the cup holder--gross)
*2 library books (I hope they are not over due)
*Pack of baby wipes (dried out, no less)
*key ring mini flash light
*an unopened tin of Altoids
*empty (very sticky) sippy cup
*empty iPod box with instruction manual
*tape measure (you never know when you might need one)
*an unopened organizer that goes on the back of the car seat (might be nice if I happened to use this)
What's in your car?

Now that MM is feeling better about her "boo-boo" I will document it. It is looking much better now. We are still keeping it covered from the sun (all summer long) and at night (I'm afraid she might claw it by accident). It looks shiny because of the Derma-Bond (super glue).

Don't you love a good list? I sure do....
1. Lost: I came on late to this one and I mainly watch just to see what one-liner Sawyer is going to give. I mean, I love, love, love his nicknames.
2. Entourage: Witty writing. I love to hear Ari get on a roll. He is hysterical.
3. Grey's Anatomy: McDreamy. Need I say more? I still love him in Can't Buy Me Love.
4. ER: Yes, I do still watch this show. It got me through high school, college, and now. It was always my "It's-almost-the-weekend" show. I do have to turn my head if I see too much blood. Remember, I'm in big trouble if I see too much of the red stuff.
5. Nip/Tuck: I came late to this show and watched it entirely on Netflix. It was worth it. Crazy situations and fabulous one-liners. Love it! After MM's accident last weekend, I actually looked over at M while at the ER and said, "Where is Sean McNamara when you need him?" HA!
I also like Californication but it is a little risque. What TV shows are you an avid watcher??

My friend, Laura, blogged about this site recently and I thought I would pass it on. It is really informative. You type in your zip code and you can see how polluted your area is. Also you can find out who is doing the polluting in your area, list of the chemicals, and the quality of your water.

Tonight's convo between MM and me:
MM: Mom can I take this crap to bed?
ME: MM we do not say that word. Crap is an ugly word.
MM: Well what should I call this? (holding up a stuffed crab).
This is what I get when I don't fully pay attention.

I'm the one using anti-bacterial stuff ALL. THE. TIME.
I'm the one that makes everyone take off their shoes at my door.
I'm the one that doesn't allow anyone else to use my lipstick.
I'm the one that sweeps three times a week.
I'm the one who has made her bed every day since at least 1998....yes, even through college.
I'm the one that forces everyone to wash their hands before holding my baby (yes, still, even though she is almost 9 months old).
I'm the one who has hands that are peeling b/c they have been washed so much.
That's me. The germ-a-phobe. I've been called that before. I've realized it and finally I just decided to embrace it. It is who I am. It's really just me....a little OCD. I don't remember always being as bad as I am now, it has definitely gotten worse over the last 10 years. Scary worse.
Then Miss OCD decided to read an article from Men's Health tonight and I almost got sick. Literally. Read the article and tell me what you think.

I'm sure never going to have lemon with my sweet tea. I'm not making my bed any more. I may never touch a shopping cart again. Seriously.

So I've been absent. M.I.A., if you will?! I know, I know, you've missed me:) HA!
So last week we spent the majority (and by majority, I mean every daylight hour) outside on the new fabulous swing set. MM has declared her Daddy, the very best ever. And she totally means it. She is so very proud of her new swing set. She still invites every single kid we see (even those random kids at Wal-Mart) to come over and play.
Our friends, Sonny, Cecelia, Caroline, and Tyson, came back and visited Friday night. I cooked supper and we waited. MM was quite impatient. They hit MAJAH traffic on the way here. Needless to say, when they arrived MM could hardly contain herself.
I was preparing the plates and doing some last minute issues in the kitchen. MM came in and talked to me. She (unbeknownst to me) kept skipping while she was talking to me.....and then ran right into the corner of the door facing.
She fell to the floor. Hard. She turned to look at me and blood was POURING out of her forehead. I don't do blood. I can handle broken bones, vomit, poop, etc. Blood, not so much. But that didn't stop the blood. It was pumping out. I immediately wanted to throw up. Cecelia (thankfully) stepped in. I had MM across my lap in the floor. We were trying to put pressure on the wound. Sonny had both the babies (HJ and Tyson). Poor little Caroline (she's such a tender heart) was crying as hard as MM. She could not stand to see MM hurt. And boy was she hurt.
Michael grabbed the car keys. I carried MM and off we went to the ER. MM was miserable. She didn't understand why we had to keep the cloth on her head. The ER was packed. Who goes to the ER early on a Friday night??? It was only like 7. I was shocked by the number of people there. We were 7th. So we spent a lot of time in the waiting room. I started crying several times and that only made MM worse. She would cry and say, "No Mommy, don't be upset. It's going to be ok." It was pitiful.
So while we were waiting, I called home. I was also concerned about HJ b/c she was hungry when I left. She doesn't do bottles very well. Why use the bottle when you can have the, um....well, cow?? And that cow would be me. Cecelia is a trooper. She found the breast milk in the freezer and finally HJ gave in and drank a little. I also had to ask about on Caroline b/c she was so distraught. They were both fine.
Finally we got back to an ER room. The doctor decided to "super glue" (Dermabond) the wound, which was about 1 1/2 inches long (it covers her forehead). She was very brave and I was so proud of the way she handled it all.
Oh yeah, not only did we have company in town (thankfully b/c they took care of HJ), but we were supposed to have family pictures made Saturday morning. It was my Mother's Day gift. The photographer was coming in from a city an hour away. Doesn't it always happen like that??? (We are going to reschedule)
I will post some pitiful pics soon. The wound is going to leave a huge scar. I've already contacted a plastic surgeon. Call me crazy?! Call me insane?! Call me vain?!Call me what you will. Fine, but I don't want my baby having a big scar on her forehead. I know it will probably fade, but I needed someone to tell me that we could get rid of it if need be. My husband kept reminding me that it could have been so much worse. I know this, but I still don't want a huge scar running from her eyebrow to her hairline. Sometimes as a mother, you can lose your rational self. She's still my precious baby, wound and all. She has been telling everyone that her "Boo-Boo is beautiful." And it is.
I have been given some instructions as to how to minimize the scarring (no sun, vitamin E, aloe vera, etc).
My Google Reader is about to explode. Will you all be made at me if I "mark all as read"? I haven't had much time to read blogs with the accident situation. I hope you will forgive me for not commenting your latest post:)
I am sending you all a big Happy Mother's Day!

MM and her Daddy are still working on the swing set. It's a process.
Or so I've been told.
Anyway, I heard MM ask her Daddy a most curious little question this afternoon. He's looking over all the (million and one) pieces and she is watching him intently.
Then she says, "Daddy, are you sure this is a good idea?"
She repeated this question several times throughout the afternoon! I couldn't have agreed more...haha.
MM used to go to a fabulous babysitter 2 days a week while I went to work. She had lots of freedom there. She got to sneak and watch TV shows that her Mommy normally did not let her watch. She has told me about these shows before and there has always been one name I could not understand....until yesterday.
We were flipping through the TV channels and she exclaimed, "There it is. There it is!!! There it is!!!"
I said, "What?"
"The show Terri let me watch." MM replied, "It's called Chimmy Ortron."
I started laughing not because she was so excited but because after 2 years of hearing about Chimmy Ortron, I finally knew what show she was talking about.
The show is called Jimmy Neutron.

Don't you just love your friends? Just today I had a moment where I needed reassurance and one of my oldest and dearest friends, Amber, came to my rescue. Thanks Amber for always making this crazy girl feel better!:)
A sweet set of couple friends are coming to visit us this weekend all the way from Villa Rica, GA (not too far away). We are all so excited. MM gets to play with her friend Caroline (5 years old). M gets to play, er, I mean put up the swing set with his friend Sonny (yes we are STILL working on the million piece swing set and MM would make a great foreman one of these days). I get to play with my friend Cecelia while we chase after her son, Tyson (11 months old) and my little HJ.
I also am thankful for my sweet bloggy friends. What a resource the internet has been for me as a stay at home mom! Great (and almost free) entertainment!
I want to introduce y'all to a new bloggy friend. Katie is so very creative and loves all things antique (as do I....I need to post about all my hand-me-downs in my house one of these days). Katie has a darling little 1 year old girl named Amelia Kate. I love reading all her posts and seeing all those gorgeous pictures. She has magnificent taste, really, she does. Go check her out! You will be glad you did.
As for all my other friends, both in real life and in the bloggy world, thanks! Now get out there and have a fantastic weekend!
