Help!

We have plaster walls and have yet to hang a single thing on any wall. Do you think this picture (above) should go over my couch in our living room? My camera would not cooperate when I wanted to take a picture of the exact spot over the couch. This canvas would be hung to the right of the lamp centered over the couch. Our old leather couch is chocolate leather. Please tell me what you think. Be honest. The hubby hates this picture and does not want to use it anywhere.
P.S. Please ignore the nice water bottle in the above picture. I know it is a nice addition and all, but....

OK, so now that I have been reading your blog for a week or two, I should probably introduce myself. I found your blog through Kelly's, which I found through Bring the Rain. Anyways, as I mentioned a few posts ago, I love smocked clothing and your girls are adorable, I used to be a teacher, I am a Christ follower... once I read a post I felt somehow connected to you. All of that to say- I'm hooked and hope you don't mind me following along:)

We too have plaster walls and it makes for very intentional picture hanging. I found these things at Home Depot that have revolutionized the picture hanging. They are called OOK Shield Picture Hangers. It is shaped like a shield and has a repositionable adhesive back. Put it up, try out your picture, move it around and then hammer in the two pins when you are satisfied. They are wonderful! I can't really answer your question about picture placement without seeing a pic of the whole room, but I am sure you'll pick a good spot.

I'm not even going to try to advise you where to hang the picture because I have zero taste in decorating and right now I have a picture in my living room that is off-centered!! Ha!!!

I love looking at the renovations pictures!! We hope to do a small remodel sometime in the near future and although I want newness I'm not looking forward to the decisions!!

I like the picture alot, but it doesnt look like your style to me! It would help to see what the entire room looks like to know how it would fit in!

Was there a choice (B)? I like it. It seems like the dark color in the painting would match well with the dark color of the drapes. Then again... if there's a choice (B), maybe we can see if that would be a a good place, too?

(I know, I'm NO help.) :)

Hmm...I have to side with your hubby on this one too. As the owner of a family picture framing business (okay, my husband does most of the owning of the business), those little doo dads from Home Depot mentioned above come in real handy.
