Mary Margaret was asked by her first grade teacher to come and tell the story of Jonah at her church. What an honor it was! Below is a link to see the video of her first live "preaching"!
We are so proud of our little story teller. I pray that she keeps Jesus in her heart and continues to spread His word!!!

My sweet son, Jack Michael, was born on July 19th at 1:57 am. He weighed 5 pounds, 15 ounces and was 18 1/2 inches long. He was 5 weeks early and he went directly to the NICU because he was having problems breathing. He spent 11 loooooooong days there. It was terrible coming home and having to leave your baby at the hospital. I didn't even get to hold him until day 5 (when he came out of the oxygen dome). While I was a complete wreck, my dear husband was a rock. He was such a support to me. We brought Jack home on June 30th and I haven't been doing anything but spoiling him rotten. His sisters adore him and even fight over who gets to hold him. I have let all other things fall to the wayside. It has been adjustment having 3 but it was much easier jumping from 2 to 3 kids than it was from 1 to 2. We are so blessed!!!

This past weekend Mary Margaret was on a roll.
The husband said, "I really would like some wings."
MM replied, "Dad, you wouldn't fit through the front door AND you couldn't fly with them! That's silly!"
I laughed so hard I was snorting.

It was an F-3 tornado that hit our little community. What a miracle that we survived! We have been told by rescue workers that all those trees in our backyard saved us. I was told just today by our roofer that it looks like the back portion of the roof was almost pulled off. I don't even want to imagine it....

Our sweet little town was hit by a tornado this past Saturday night. Our old historic street suffered significant damage. We scraped by with only moderate damage. When our back windows were blown out both my husband and I looked at each other with a look of sheer fright. I was seriously fearful for our lives. We are very blessed and thankful!! We are probably going to be without power for the next 2-3 weeks or so. The girls have adjusted to this new normal...as are we. I will post pictures as soon as we do have power. Please pray for our sweet little town!

I love to read. It is my escape. I normally read mystery/thriller type books. I've recently tried to step outside the box and read different genres. I just finished the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. These had a little bit of time travel (way outside my normal genre). I devoured these books. I couldn't wait to borrow the next one...and then the next one...and then the next one (there are 7). I practically harassed my friend that loaned me the books.
But now....I'm finished. Ugh!
I've been at a loss as what to read next. I found a cool little tool a few years ago that sometimes helps me find new authors with books in similar genres.
It is called LITERATURE-MAP.
Go there and type in your favorite author (for example John Grisham). A map will come up and have John Grisham in the middle and dozens of authors listed around. The names closest to Grisham write the most like him and are most similar in genre.
What a useful little tool this has been for me. I'm off to use it to find my next adventure!

I would have never thought that during the 10 weeks where she cried for no less than 6 hours a day (COLIC), this child would be such a happy child. She is really such a joy. She's rarely in a bad mood. Harper is becoming quite the comedian. I am thoroughly enjoying being at home with this precious angel.
We were watching Grey's Anatomy one night recently. Yes, she was snuggling with me in my bed. The renowned doctor Harper Avery was on this episode. Everyone kept repeating his name. Harper looked at me and said, "Me Harper, Mommy. Me Harper!"
Tuesday of this week, I was trying to get her to concentrate on something other than taking away her sister's book. I said, "Harper, where is your baby?" She said, "Not sure, Mommy, but I want to wead Mawy Mawgawet's book."
She wants to go all the time, but she wants to go in a "Pwetty Dwess and Hairbow". Always, never fails. She is so prissy. Sometimes just to appease her, I will put on her smocked dress (always her choice) over her pajamas and just drive around the block. She is spoiled rotten.
She lives off of chicken nuggets and biscuits.
She loves to brush her teeth.
She loves to take a bath. If I ever sneak away and try to take a bath, she finds me and begs to get in with me.
When we leave, she must have her coat zipped and always, always has to have her scarf.
She is obsessed with shoes and purses.
She also LOVES to color with crayons, markers, and colored pencils. A new coloring book is her prize during our weekly Wal-Mart trips. She takes her time choosing just the right book.
She is 30 1/2 months old.
At night, she talks to my belly and calls her brother, "Jack-Jack"! She came up with that on her own!!
I am thankful for every sweet day with her.

We found out this morning. Both the girls went with us. Mary Margaret wanted to be the first to know. The nurse whispered to her and then Mary Margaret got to tell us. She was a bit disappointed and said, "It's a boy and I guess I'll love him anyway."
It was a priceless moment!
He does have a little heart issue that we are praying will heal itself. The doctor didn't go into too much detail because she said most of the time everything ends up fine. We are also praying for NO pre-term labor like my last pregnancy. Boy babies do not do as well if they are early.
We have chosen a name. He will be named Jack Michael. Jack after my grandfather and Michael after my husband. Mary Margaret still thinks we should name him Tucker, but she said Jack was the next best thing. I'll post pictures of his sweet little profile soon!
